Kleyn - Origins
Kleyn Healthcare was jointly founded by a team of Primary Care General Practitioners, Hospital Care Specialty Consultants and Senior Healthcare Managers.
The above team commenced Kleyn with the single vision of creating access to high quality secondary care services to patients within the community.
Since the organisation was created in 2003, it has now grown into a successful "John Lewis" style enterprise with an exciting future. The leadership team is led by a board of senior clinicians and managers, all of whom are derived from senior roles in the NHS and related organisations. Its Medical Director Prof Rajan Madhok is a nationally acknowledged Clinician leader with past roles as Medical Director to both NHS and multinational organisations. He is also a Senior academic who has pioneered initiatives in Orthopaedics, Public Health, Global Health, Transformational healthcare, Informatics as well as clinical leadership initiatives across the National Health Service and overseas. The Clinical Leadership team consists of Clinical Directors who lead and represent each speciality heading up teams of Clinician "Partners" and the Service delivery in that speciality.
Kleyn's management team is led by its Chief Operating Officer Mrs Julie McCann , supported by a team of Senior Business Development, Operational, finance managers and frontline teams based across its service delivery sites. Kleyn is primarily based from frontline GP Practice based locations with supporting larger modern Community Hospital style hubs that are being built called Kleyn Integrated Care Centres (KICCs). These KICCs are being developed across 5 sites covering most of the Northern regions across and around the M62 belt. The first KICC is due to open shortly in North Cheshire later this year.
The Kleyn Service Model
Our success has been based on developing effective partnerships and developing key clinicians as stakeholders across multiple specialties, and bringing in experienced healthcare managers who understand healthcare in the context of the healthcare both within and outside the National Health Service in England. The early years of Kleyn were invested in community based pilot schemes to understand the needs of patients and Primary Care clinicians and have developed high quality cearly access, cost effective models of service delivery that is based on collaborative processes with local providers.
Our model is very community oriented, and our services are provided with low overheads and minimal profit margins , which enables us to provide some cost effective alternatives to traditional healthcare services.
Kleyn Healthcare consists of the multiple partnerships of clinicians involved in providing the services. As part of its collaborative working ethos, Kleyn and its senior team endeavor to collaborate with local providers of clinical services , including Acute trusts and Community Trusts and Third Sector organisations.
